JPTi STANDS FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY IN UZBEKISTAN

Updated: 7 days ago

Justice pour Tous Internationale is proud to announce a significant victory in its fight against racism and discriminatory policies targeting the LGBTQ+ community. On 4 November 2024, Mr. UK, whom JPTi represented in securing his safe haven, was granted asylum in Germany after enduring years of persecution and threats due to his sexual orientation. His experiences of targeted violence, intimidation, and the risk of criminal prosecution in Uzbekistan—his home country—compelled him to flee in 2022. While seeking refuge in Russia, he continued to face harassment and intimidation. The granting of refugee status in Germany marks an important achievement; however, it underscores the ongoing systemic discrimination based on sexual orientation and ethnicity that persists globally.
