Advancing the case for Scotland’s recognition as a Non-Self-Governing Territory (NSGT) under international law.

These comparative legal assessments examine Scotland's situation in light of established UN criteria—particularly General Assembly Resolutions 1514 (XV), 1541 (XV), and 67/265—and draw detailed parallels with the current status of New Caledonia and French Polynesia, both of which are included on the UN list of NSGTs.
This submission builds upon our Advance Notice of Petition transmitted on 7 March 2025 and arrives in the lead-up to a critical diplomatic moment: the June 2025 Substantive Session of the C-24.
🗓️ In this context, we are also honoured to co-organise the international conference:
“Next Steps for Scottish Sovereignty”
📍 Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline, Scotland
📅 17 May 2025
The conference will include a dedicated plenary session on “Decolonisation & Self-Determination”, with contributions from legal experts, diplomats, and members of Scotland’s liberation movement. All members of the UN C-24, diplomatic missions, and the wider international community are invited to attend—either in person or via livestream.
