We, Justice pour Tous Internationale (JPTi), alongside Public Advocacy and Public Institution “Human Rights Protection” (VSI “ŽMOGAUS TEISIŲ APSAUGA”), have officially submitted a third-party request to the GANHRI Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA) urging the downgrade of the Estonian Chancellor of Justice (Ombudsman) from “A” to “B” status.

Justice Pour Tous Internationale (JPTi) took on the case of Mr. UK, a member of the LGBTQ+ community from Uzbekistan who faced severe persecution due to his sexual orientation. In his home country, Mr. Ulashov was subjected to targeted violence, harassment, and threats from both state and non-state actors. Seeking safety, he fled to Russia in 2022, only to encounter continued intimidation and threats, compelling him to seek asylum elsewhere.

In countries like Iran and Egypt, outdated policing practices and unchecked law enforcement powers have led to systemic abuses, including arbitrary arrests and gender-based violence.

Gulnara Karimova’s case, involving the repatriation of billions in illicit assets, highlighted the challenge of ensuring that recovered funds benefit the people.

Orthodox communities in Estonia and Ukraine, particularly those associated with the Moscow Patriarchate, faced state-led repression, including refusal to renew residence permits for clergy and arbitrary detentions under politically motivated accusations.

Systemic issues within Germany’s Youth Welfare Offices (Jugendamt) revealed a bias toward foster care placements over family reunification, often without adequate evidence. This resulted in significant emotional distress for affected families.

Julian Assange faced nearly 14 years of arbitrary detention for exposing government misconduct through WikiLeaks, while former UK ambassador Craig Murray was targeted under counter-terrorism laws for his outspoken defense of human rights. Both cases underscored the misuse of legal frameworks to suppress freedom of expression.

German entrepreneur Alena Bekker, of Belarusian descent, was unjustly targeted through EU sanctions despite full compliance with legal regulations. These sanctions severely disrupted her business operations, highlighting the political misuse of economic measures.
